Working with over 80 PCTs and referring trusts, Affinity Healthcare is a specialist provider of complex adult and young people’s mental health services. Collaboration and partnership with the NHS is a key to our success and we have established long and successful relationships with PCTs, mental health trusts and other stakeholders.
With more than 200 years experience in mental health and operating over 250 beds across the north of England, our ethos of providing high quality, outcome-driven, professional care is central to everything we do.
Affinity Healthcare moves into new ownership
Priory Group agreed to the purchase of Affinity Healthcare in January 2010, subject only to clearance from the Office of Fair Trading. This clearance has now come through and on 19th March 2010 Priory completed the purchase of the company. From this date, Affinity’s three hospitals Cheadle Royal Hospital, Manchester, Middleton St George Hospital, Darlington, and Sion House, Preston, transferred to the Priory
This change will mean commissioners, referrers, patients, and indeed all stakeholders, will benefit from greater capacity and range of integrated services from the combined strength of two established mental healthcare providers.
The Priory Group recognises the specialist services that Affinity Healthcare provides to the NHS and are committed to maintaining this approach. There are no changes proposed to how clinical services are provided at any Affinity Healthcare hospital arising as a direct result of this change of control. Furthermore, Priory have confirmed that they have no imminent plans to change operational and clinical teams at Affinity, so you will continue to liaise with the same people, thus helping maintain continuity with your organisation.
Affinity has always been proud of it’s close relationship with the NHS and the desire to develop high quality services through partnership and collaboration will continue into this new phase of hospital ownership.
