Coming into the hospital
We understand that when you, a relative or friend is admitted to one of our hospitals it can be a very worrying time for all concerned. The environment is new, the staff team are new and there is much uncertainty about the future
Here at Affinity Healthcare we offer a high level of support to both patients and their families and carers during the course of an admission. Most wards operate an 'open communication' policy whereby you can speak with a staff member at most times of the day. Community meetings on the wards provide a forum for all, to discuss any areas where you feel there may be improvement. Family support groups are also a feature of many services.
Full advocacy support is offered at both Middleton St George Hospital and Cheadle Royal Hospital and these professionals are fully independent and appointed to represent your view.
If you are admitted under a section of the Mental Health Act this will be explained in great detail by your key nurse. A leaflet is available which will answer many of the queries you may have and your representatives can raise issues on your behalf.
