Information

Cheadle MP Mark Hunter
“I am very happy to support this important campaign. Sadly eating disorders are becoming more and more common especially among young people. Despite growing awareness of this problem many aren’t aware that their actions are harming their body, and both parents and the young people involved find it very hard to seek the psychological help necessary for coping with these conditions"
"I am pleased to be supporting Affinity Healthcare and Cheadle Royal Hospital through their excellent work in this area. Having visited the facility I have seen the damage that eating disorders can do to young people and I hope that this campaign is successful in raising awareness of this"
Hollyoaks star Emma Rigby (Hannah Ashworth)
“The campaign against pro anorexia websites is fantastically worthwhile. Anorexia is an illness that can completely ruin lives and anything that encourages people to make themselves so ill, as these pro anorexia websites do, shouldn't be so easily accessible. Rather than encouraging young girls to become anorexic, awareness should be raised about the devastating effect the illness can have and that ultimately it can kill people. The consultants from the hospital are trying to make a real difference to vulnerable people’s lives and I urge people to support them"
Jen Hunter - Model
“To know that there is now strong action being taken to help and advise and make us as a society more aware of what is going on is an amazing first step. I know it puts my mind at ease that if I ever suspected, as a mother, my daughter could be looking at the pro-anorexic websites and taking advice and guidance, that I had a better knowledge and understanding through this campaign. This campaign is a long time in coming and I can only admire the organisers in being brave enough to tackle this issue and be able to help so many parents in the battle to fight anorexia."
