Clinical Psychologist

You will work both autonomously and as part of multi-disciplinary teams comprising Nursing staff, Psychiatrists & Occupational Therapists. Your key responsibility will be the provision of a high quality clinical psychology service to the Adult Rehabilitation and Recovery Service.

You will have knowledge and skills in the psychological and psychosocial treatment of; psychoses, complex interpersonal problems and self injury. You will also be able to offer other multidisciplinary colleagues consultancy, supervision, training, service evaluation/research skills and generally act as a catalyst to the growth of the service. This post will allow you to develop your complex care and leadership skills.

You will join a rapidly expanding psychology dept and will enjoy an excellent salary, opportunities for CPD and an attractive range of benefits. The department enjoys strong links with the University of Manchester, School of Psychological Sciences with two on-going research collaborations examining the training needs of inpatient staff based on patient need, and developing adaptive coping strategies for people with psychoses who self injure. We also have established links with the Universities of Lancaster and Liverpool You will therefore have the opportunity to pursue innovative projects or research interests.

Ideally you will have up to 2 years experience however, applications will be considered from newly qualified. To be considered, you will need a doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology that is recognized by the British Psychological Society. You will need to be HPC registered (or eligible to be) and eligible for chartered status. You will have considerable skills in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Psychoses. Additional Skills in Schema Focus Work Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Cognitive Analytic Therapy would also be an advantage.
